The Adaptive Wireless Routing protocol (AWR) overcomes previous limitations imposed by the spanning tree protocol to make all-wireless network infrastructures more intelligent, scalable, flexible and resilient end-to-end.

Layer 3, the Network Layer, is where Azalea's intelligent Adaptive Wireless Routing protocol operates. As a dynamic, distributed routing protocol purpose-built for wireless networks, AWR is able to forward packets at near nominal wireless data rates across multiple hops with a per-hop latency of under two milliseconds. And even though AWR is a robust routing protocol, it is remarkably efficient, enabling it to be implemented cost-effectively on wireless nodes with multiple radios.

Motrix™ High-Speed Roaming
Motrix is a contraction for the mobile matrix characterizing the ability to roam seamlessly, potentially at very high speeds, throughout an Azalea broadband wireless network infrastructure. The seamless integration of the network and link layers in the Adaptive Wireless Routing protocol provides the cross-IP subnet roaming capability needed to enable clients to move from node to node in under 50 milliseconds while keeping the same IP address, thereby maintaining a continuous connection for the application, including VoIP communications.

With Motrix roaming, users are free to move about the entire broadband wireless network infrastructure without reinitiating active sessions because the seamless transition from one access point to another is completed in under 50 milliseconds.
