Chilean VAR opens new international market for
Azalea’s wireless mesh network routing technology

Milpitas, California – September 17, 2009 – Azalea Networks, a leading innovator in wireless network equipment and technology, today announced an agreement with Consultec Ltd. Economic & Engineering Consulting Services of Santiago, Chile. Consultec is the first South American company to offer Azalea’s patented solution offering “intelligent” routing technology that delivers on the promise of wireless voice, video, and data with superior performance and lowest cost of ownership.

Consultec provides expertise in numerous industries requiring professional experience in wireless networks. Their engineers have advised clients including the Chilean Telecom Authority on rural wireless network planning for over 70 percent of the nation’s population. “With our expertise and knowledge of the requirements of governmental agencies, carriers, industrial and municipal services companies in Chile, we are pleased to offer the Azalea technology-based solution that provides a cost-effective yet scalable and high-performing wireless mesh network,” commented Edison Acuna, CEO of Consultec Ltd.

Azalea’s technology provides municipalities, public safety applications, oil and gas operations, shipping ports, distribution centers, agriculture and rural applications, and business and education campuses with the benefits of turn-key wireless solutions while offering the ability to expand, grow or modify a network as needs change. The “intelligent” characteristics of Azalea’s Layer-3 network routing technology are inherent in its ability to deliver peer-to-peer routing across the entire network while enabling network management from the host to the client. Azalea’s solution also enhances its wireless network’s integration with other wireless and wired networks, including the Internet, enterprise networks, or service provider infrastructure, adding flexibility for the wireless network operator.

Rake Jiang, Azalea Vice President and General Manager, International Markets and Global Strategic Alliances, reported “Consultec offers us inroads into the South American market with their expertise and professional knowledge.” He added, “Azalea’s technology will provide a superior solution for those seeking the benefits of a scalable and high-performing wireless mesh network.”
